How come I can't get more then 10% off the JD 3320

( It costs money to buy down the rate and they expect us to participate, thus the disclaimer "at participating dealerships". Plus we share in the "risk" of extending financing through a % participation, called recourse. So please understand there is no free lunch for the dealer, but at our dealership and I assume at most, we try our best to balance the entire equation to be fair to our customers as well as to the dealership. Hope this helps... )

So does the 0% for 36 months that I took advantage of cost the dealer any money?

Yea, positive. I get paid commission so I track just about every dollar going in and out. It would also be on all my program sheets. When you get into some of the larger high dollar equipment somtimes we buy down rates but we've not had forced partisipation on an advertised program that I can recall.

The percentage off has as much to do with model considered; that is, units that don't sell well and the dealer has been paying floor plan will cut you a smoking deal to get it down the road. On the other hand, units which sell very well, they sit a bit more firmly on the price and guess what, you are looking at a unit which sells well.

Yes, 1% of the amount financed. At least thats what it was 2 months ago.

We are not forced to participate, but if we do we are charged. My Salesmen are on Commission also, and I do not charge them for participation-

We also sell Construction Equipment, and most (not Deere on the Yellow side) charge us Participation on Programs-even Hesston charges us-

Re: How come I can\'t get more then 10% off the JD 3320

That kinda sucks.

Iguess it's a sales tool for you and in some cases would make or break a deal but to me that should come out of the manufactures end.

Funny but I mentioned buying it outright with cash and it didn't sound like the price would change so I decided to keep my cash and take the 0%.

Re: How come I can\'t get more then 10% off the JD 3320

Please understand that the 1% would not pay for the complete Finance buy down charges, so Deere does participate (just not all of it). There are times when we do not have to participate-

If you haven't already, try K.C. Canary in Fultonville, NY.

There were posts on TBN a couple of years ago that indicated members were very happy with the dealer and the price.

You will find a link to them under the Dealers Tab on the TBN banner.
