How did you find TBN?

I was in the market for a new tractor. There was an article in "The Mother Earth News" that was not very informative. It did however give several good links to tractor sites with this one being the best I looked at. I found the people here to be very informative and helpful. I always lurk in the shadows even if I don't post for awhile.

It's a long story that started in a land far from here. Pull up a chair, a cup of coffee and I'll fill you in.

You see, about a mile south of where we live right now is a state they call Indiana. I actually grew up in that state but that's another story. Sometime in the year 2000 (AD) we were getting restless in the cramped subdivision we called home. We began looking for some property. Of course, I saw this as an opportunity to have a tractor, something my father never realized but could have used more than myself.

Anyway, I did some searching and came across CTB and the Tractor Hacker pages by Andy. Really got me interested. Somewhere in all that was a mention of this wonderful place called TBN (or whatever it was at the time). I didn't believe it at first, but it turned out to be true. I slowly migrated from CTB to TBN and haven't looked back since.

During that time we bought the property, then the tractor (which was all spec'd out prior to the property finalization thanks to the wisdom of TBN), and finally built the house.

The next chapter would seem to be another fun place called CBN /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I was just looking for things on tractors on the net. I found this site and I have enjoyed it. I really like it that everyone can voice an opinion and they aren't belittled about it. We all have our likes and dislikes. It would be a very dull world if we all liked the same thing. I like hearing about others problems and their solutions. I am currently trying to figure out how to run remote hydraulics to the rear of my B7500hst. I keep getting ideas from here. Keep up the good work as you can't seem to get an unbiased outlook on the tv anymore.
I would rather spend my time reading the posts and replying when I can help than watching the tv. Thanks to all who keep the site going.

I was looking for a tractor, in 2000, and a magazine article I read mentioned CTB. I checked that out for a while, and this guy named Bird mentioned TBN, I checked it out, and have been here ever since!

In the summer of 2000 my father in law offered to give me his B6100 if I drove to California to pick it up. I had only seen the tractor sitting in his back yard for years so I was doing a Google search to try to find out more about the tractor so I wouldn't look totally stupid in front of him when I went to pick it up. That got me to CTB and TBN and, like the others, "I've been here even since".

I'd decided that I wanted to pursue a long time dream of owning a tractor, so I began doing some research on the internet. I stumbled across the site and thought it was just an ad to order the book. So I ordered the book.

A short itme after getting the book, I was telling someone about it, but couldn't remember the name of the site, so I came back to it and realized that it was just a little more than an ad! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

When most everybody that was in Yahoo's Yanmar group moved here I came too. Now I rarely look at the Yanmar part the rest is so good. Learned a bunch just reading posts.
