T1510 New Holland
We just got a T1510 New Holland. The hydrostatic pedal does not return automatically to neutral after going forward or backward. It continues to creep just a little bit and you have to use your foot to position back to neutral every time. We greased and lubed the fitting already. We looked in the book and it says to adjust linkage back to neutral. I called the NH dealer to ask where is this linkage and he said under the foot board of the pedal. I have attached a diagram of the parts of our tractor, but we are unsure exactly where and what we are to adjust. Welcoming suggestions.

It looks like the centering devise is #13 and you would loosen 2 nuts (#6 and LH #15) and adjust rod #7. Note the 2 nuts...one is RH and one is LH so as you turn the rod it will lengthen or shorten.

Thanks for your reply. We have several more questions:

We noticed there was not a double nut (#6) at the top of #13 and when we added it, now it only creeps going forward. But, the reverse snaps right back into neutral.

A: There doesn’t look like there is any access to turn #7 rod. Do I unloosen #4 nut and remove #8, #5 and #11(as indicated by red arrow) to get access to #15 nut and #7 rod and possibly #6 nut? We noted that #11 is loose as you can wiggle it with your fingers.

B: If “A” is correct, will I have problems with tension on the spring inside #13?

The springs in 13 could be slightly changing by seating themselves so adjustment may be needed. Try adjusting the rod going into 13...just left of your red arrow. Some silicone spray lube may help the springs in 13 too.

Thanks again for the suggestions...Silicone spray and adjusting that nut did not help. What we are noticing is if we put it into reverse and release, the spring and rod #13 and #14 returns to the top like it should and the tractor goes to neutral and does not drift. But, if we push the pedal to forward and release, the same spring and rod does not return to the top like it does when you put it in reverse. It needs to pop up to the top up about another 1/4 to 1/2" to go into neutral. Since it does not go all the way to the top, it slowly creeps forward. Does this sound like a bad dampener, spring or do you still think #7 rod still needs adjusted to make it return to the top?

At this point, without being able to be there and see it in person, I can't decipher it further.

We figured it out! WOOHOO! Before we put it all together we tried to adjust one more time. First, we put a mark on the nut and rod (bottom arrow). Then we loosened that nut and turned the rod 1 full turn then tested it. It kinda help, so we turned it one more turn and that made it better. We kept turning and checking until it would not drift forward and tightened that bolt back up.

Due to making this change, the tractor drifted backwards; so we adjusted the top double nuts (top arrow) / kept turning and checking until it quit drifting backwards. We then tested forward and backwards and both work perfectly. We did mark the nuts and rod so it it goes out of adjustment again that we can see by how much.

Now to the next task. The previous owner disconnected / removed the park brake. We need to see what parts are missing to purchase / put them on the tractor.

Thanks so much for all your help and encouragement!
