I took my new old NH 450 out for a spin today and the belt broke. I'm pretty sure the part should be readily available but how to replace it doesn't look intuitive.

Has anyone replace a belt on the 450? Any tips on how it's done would be most appreciated.

Should be pretty simple.

Once you remove the belt guards, (if it still has them) there should be a tension bolt (jack bolt) on the drive pulley housing. Probably one or two lock bolts also.

Thanks Big...you're right.. to slacken or remove the belt I loosened the drive pulley mounting bolt. There's also a "tensioner" hook bolt with a threaded end that runs through an eyelet on the side of the drive pulley. The tensioner hook bolt nuts had to be loosened also. After slipping the new belt over the pulley and lightly tightening the drive pulley mounting bolt, I drew the belt tight by tightening the nuts on the tensioner then fully tightened down the mounting bolt. Piece of cake really.
