Hydraulic guru's:

I am thinking about adding a hydraulic tilt cylinder to my Kubota 2650 - probably with this cylinder:

I've read that for better control a flow restrictor of some sort is beneficial. If so does it matter if its a
needle valve or an inlow flow restrictor? Any difference between the two?

What are you going to do for the ends? I suggest that you use a 2" dia cylinder. You can use either a flow restrictor or a needle valve. Flow restrictor is less $$.

Those are two different valves, as one of them is adjustable flow in one direction in one direction and free flow in the other direction, and the other valve is open in both directions.

I believe you want flow in both directions.

The less expensive solution would be the orifice restrictor in the hose fitting. Looks like a washer with a small hole in it. The hole size determines the flow volume.

Thanks for the replies -

MtnViewRanch - cut one end off the cylinder and weld on the 'fork' end.

J_J: not sure what I want - so I ordered the cylinder sans the valves; my intention is to now see how it works - if needed then I'll go with the 2 way restrictor - I think!

You hyd pump flow is about 6.8 GPM, so you night need the restrictors, unless you feather every time.
