Kubota B2650HST. Kubota Z125S
I was moving some brush around the property today. I ran over a small stump (the stump was free, already dug out) and it struck the suction filter. A few minutes later I noticed fluid puddled on the ground. I headed for the garage but the tractor stopped and would not move so I shut it down.

I replaced the filter and added 2.5 gallons of fluid and it was enough to drive it to the garage and park it. Then I went to the Kubota dealer to buy new fluids and filters. Seems to run fine but still need to top off the fluid. Glad I got it going again because the forecast is for 12-18 tomorrow night into Thursday.

Glad you got it up and running. Funny how the smallest things can really screw up stuff. Be careful with the snow clearing. We have about the same amount coming.

A digression..............How do you B2650 owners get along in the snow? What tire tread do you have and do you use chains? My B2620 with R4 tires needed chains to perform in snow.....but the BX2660 with turf tires did not. Now I have the B2650 with R4s but no snow to test it yet.
Cheers,
Mike

I live in the snow belt in NE Ohio, and my B2650 with turf tires plows snow great. No chains needed. I can push snow right over the top of the bucket if I want to. 20160112_121243 (450x800).jpg

My B2650HST has R4 tires. I can move snow with the bucket on paved driveway and it will slide around if I get too much snow in the bucket. I do have chains but don’t use them any more because I have the rear blower and there is no problem blowing snow.

Rkidd,

Yeah, I can push light snow with the bucket on paved surfaces, otherwise it will slide all over the place. I use medium range, low range and low speed would actually be the best configuration for pushing with the bucket.

Make sure you carefully check the nipple and housing the filter screws onto -- I believe this happened to another 2650 owner and he had to also replace the filter mount. Probably can find the thread here if you do a search.

Thanks for the chains replies. Guess I'll find out next year.

Hitting that suction filter was a streak of bad luck that could happen to most any model tractor. Hope no real damage was done. I'll be "in the brush" myself today.

Cheers,
Mike

I did examine it closely when I replaced the filter. I did clear snow since and it is not leaking. All seems to be OK, luckily.
