I'd like a large tractor-mounted string mower also. Fire season starts today around here. Cut the firebreaks last week with my offset disc. Now I've got a stand of yellow star thistle in my hayfield. I'll wipe it down with glysophate herbicide later this week. When it's dead, it's fire tinder that you don't want to mow with a metal bladed implement (rocky soil, sparks, here comes CFD to put out the fire and hand you a bill for their services). I hope to learn a lot from this thread so I can take a whack at some sort of jumbo string mower later this year. Sounds like a fun project

Hey, that's one neat string mower:thumbsup:
I'm all set up with an SSQA on my FEL. Just need to route hydraulic lines to the front of the Mahindra 5525 and build the mower.

It's high on my "to build" list
