Hello,

I have a bx2230 which has 175 hours. I have a question about the hydraulic lift for the 3pt and the mid mower. Recently, I pull the lever to move the mower deck up and the deck will lift about 1/3 the distance up and stop. The engine slows a little. I then move the lever again to lift and the mower will move up again a short distance and stop. The lever, if you hold it in the lift position, will pull in your hand trying to center itself.

Does this sound like a common issue? Is there an adjustment I can try??

Thanks in advance,

Steve

There is some linkage that center the lever in theb all the way up and down positions. Sounds like the linkage is loose, bent or mis-adjusted. Check it out behind the right rear wheel.

the linkage that the shaft with the 2 springs on is ment to be able to rotate so when the rod moves through its stroke the link does not bind on the shaft, this link siezes up and can cause the problem you mention. pull it apart and free it up, then coat with anti sieze and reassemble, then adjust the springs as outlined by ericbx1500. this is fairly common, especially if cleaned with pressure cleaners, hope this is of some help.
