- Yanmar 155D
Hi everyone -
I am new to this forum, and look forward to contributing as I learn more with time myself. In the meantime, I want to share an issue with my late 1970s Yanmar 155D, gear drive, 4x4- hoping to get some advice.
I recently noticed (last 3-4 uses) that when the tractor warmed up (10-15 mins of operating it), the FEL and 3 point would not work anymore / raise up. I replaced the hydraulic fluid a couple of times last fall as some water had gotten in the system (had the milky stuff). At that time I cleaned the filter and screen as well - the current fluid is clear as new, and at the right level - no milky or burnt smell. The hydraulic fluid in the manual called for John Deere type 303 or similar, and I used the Traveller Premium Universal Tractor Trans / Hydraulic fluid from TSC as it stated it is compatible with JD type 303. Seems like it worked fine for a little while after I replaced the fluid but I have not used it much and I am not 100% positive as I also have a larger JD 2520 that I now use as a primary tractor on the property.
Any advice on how to properly troubleshoot, and in what order? Both FEL and 3 point are acting in same fashion (start strong but weaken after warming up) so I assume not a valve / stuck cylinder on either, but something in the overall hydraulics system - is this fair to assume? Shall I try replacing the fluid again, and cleaning out the filter (I need to take off one of the rear tires to be able to get the screen and filter out due to the aftermarket yellow loader frame you see on the picture, so it is a couple of hours at least)...
Picture added to 'introduce' my little Yanmar to the forum, but if someone may use to help with the troubleshooting, please do so - can add more if needed!
Thank you in advance!
