L3430 w/ 723 Loader & 4n1 bucket. - Hydro tube burst when curling bucket - no load in bucket. Has this ever happened to anyone with 723 loader? Tractor is not used roughly and burst where could not have had contact with object. Any ideas? Hoses look fine.

Warrenty?

Hello ED...
Where did it break??? Those metal lines are constantly moving, ‘vibrating’.
Although there was no load in the bucket, there was a large ‘load’ inside the hydraulic lines… when you curl the bucket as in dump, it is a regenerative dump, and pressure is placed on both sides of the piston during the first part of the dump cycle. Is it a break between the frame and the tube? Are you still in warranty? KennyV.

Thanks for your reply - the tude burst in the middle 18"+ from connectors on either end. Other info, it burst just after the tube bends (from horizontal on loader arm toward the angled path to the bucket) ( /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif). Plus, it was on the side facing the loader arm where it is least likely to be pricked by some object? The tractor is 2 yr 4mth old with 230 hr., so it's not in warranty, but I thought if others had similar problems I would want to know. Otherwise - well it's just one of those things that happen, although I thought a hose might break before a tube. Anyway, I carried it to dealer this morning. Wonder if there is anything that I could have done that contributed to this?

Ed you might have had a small rock or something like that between the frame and the tube, over tine it could have abraded the steel to the point that it couldn’t handle the pressure…? Those steel tubes are tough… but they are not as forgiving as rubber hoses.
I have a couple tubes that have been abused, bent and pinched… I really should replace. BUT… I have not taken the time. Now that you have me thinking about it I should order mine so that I have them to replace before mine crack… Have fun getting oily /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif… KennyV.

Wasn't there something about some kubota loader hydraulic lines not meeting standards and bursting??

Maybe do a seach and find the thread.

/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif yep that put some light on it - yep - I did it with bucket curled down pushing slowly - $$ lesson learned - thanks for the pics - better that words

Some folks also mentioned that back dragging was a problem too. I'm assuming they mean back dragging with the bucket in the curled down position right? I back drag with the heel (back side) of the bucket all the time. Since it is nearly level I can't imagine that it would cause high hydraulic loads.
