I turned on the boob tube this mornin to catch the news and weather before headin out to work and what do I hear....

New type of hand shake touchin elbows to greet someone, huhh , this is to prevent spreadin the flu Your kiddin right ???

My Pop always taught me to look the person your greetin straight in the eye and give a good firm handshake, like you mean it ! Man to Man !

Sorry, I just cant stomach this weak wristed crap, whats it all commin to ?

We hired a new bean counter here at work a couple weeks ago. He has some sort of germ phobia. I walked up to him, stuck my hand out to shake, and he just stood there for a minute, no hand offered in return. After what seemed like an eternity, he stuck his hand out and we shook. He then pulled a wet-wipe out of his pocket, opened it, and cleaned his hand. (I DO take showers routinely Even wash my hands on occasion)

There's cautious, and then there's RUDE.

There was a blurb on the tube recently about a theory that the increasing rate of food allergies is related to our over-cleanliness. The idea is that we sanitize stuff so much, especially for our children, that the immune system, without more interesting things to react to, starts reacting to normal food items. Maybe Farm should offer his new bean counter some peanuts to see if he faints.

as a professional bean counter in good standing I must point out that Farm's bean counter is not a good representation of the bean counting profession in general. some of us bean counters even have and use gojo. even more than one container per year!

I am a fellow bean counter myself! I don't mind shaking hands but I will go and wash before I eat or touch my face. I see too many folks not wash after the bathroom chores. I wash my hands then crank down paper towel then wash my hands then grab paper towel and use it to turn off the water and crank down more paper towel then dry my hands and use the paper towel to open the door. pooh kills! don't touch anything!

I, too, have heard the theory of the over-cleanliness being a problem, but never heard of the elbow bumping instead of handshaking.
