I Stink At Removing Snow From My Gravel Driveway

I got a $100 snow blower this week on Marketplace, then made wooden skids that are wide and taller. Leaves 1" of snow, but glides along nicely.

Decided it would leave the driveway surface in better shape than the tractor

Put Belting material on your impellar blades. It'll throw substantially farther.

I usually just lean my 6 ft. blade as far forward at the top as possible. I still end up moving some of the 3/4 crush into the yard each year. I just ignore it now and it sinks into the lawn eventually. :cautious:

Last Sunday we got about 4" of snow. I thought I could drive over it with my FWD car. That was a mistake. I made it out of the property only to find the rest of the private drive blown over pretty good. I tried to make it back to the house but got stuck at the bottom of our hill. That was at 4:30 am. I backed the car back down the hill and got the tractor out. After a couple passes on the hill, I noticed one of the rear chains coming off. That's the first time it's happened in 20 years. It took a good 1/2 hour to get the chains back on correctly.

By the time I got the car back to the house it was 6:15 am and I was done. I called in sick to work and drove my wife to work in her AWD SUV. God, I hate snow.

I'm in the same boat, but we get a lot of snow...
I couldn't pull the trigger on the "originals" so I found these to try and not hurt if it doesn't work. Paid $31 delivered, waiting on delivery now.

OMG!!! I'm sorry to all. Just received the Vevor "skis". First look, heavy/thick metal. Bolts have a hand turn, not my favorite for tightening.
Put on and clear some snow. After 1/2 hour, bolts were toast. Bent, only way to get off is to cut bolt. Sent pics to Vevor, they are reviewing. And the whole thing is tack welded. The nuts that the bolts go through to tighten are ripping off. get what you pay for. I'll have my auto body buddy fix the right way, better bolts and reweld.
Again, sorry.
