Congrats on that beautiful new addition to you family! She (he?) will treat you right for many years. What was the deciding factors for going with this Kubota vs the other machines? (not trying to start a tussle here)

I actually had a green one up till this purchase. I really wanted to go green again (3038e) but I just couldn't wrap my brain around the FEL not being able to be removed. Another thing was the amount of fiberglass and plastic on the green ones. I had a friend step on the floorboard and the whole rear fender moved. I don't want to start any battles on here either, just had to go with what I felt was a better quality machine. Also, the orange dealer acted like he wanted to sell me a tractor. The green dealer pretty much had a "here it is, take it or leave it" attitude.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is what I came up with to get me from wheelchair to tractor seat. Works like a charm! Little tricky getting rear-end up and over the fender handle, but other than that, pretty slick! Another modification will be to make the seat a little safer. It's really hard to know if you have your butt in the sling just right, when you can't feel your butt. Another thing is, I like the ability to spin around into the seat, however, too much spin is not a good thing, although its ALOT of fun!
The rack, lift, hoist and all came from HarborFreight. Don't bash me, its what I could afford on such short notice and so far it works.

Great looking sling! Can you put colored stripes or lines on the side of the sling so you can see what level each side should be at when you are in correctly? I remember seeing a gadget on the Prairie Farm report or in the Western Producer that a guy made (and was marketing) that hooked on to the right side of the pickup and hydraulically swung up and out to put him into the cab of really big equipment even out in the field (he had a large farm) . Yours looks more affordable!

I was toying with having a short I-beam coming off the center of the ROPS that would slide me back into the seat at an angle from the front, but there was no good way to mount to the ROPS and still be able to lift 200 lbs weight 6 feet out, and of course not negate the purpose/function of the ROPS. It would be nice to have the ability to get on/off the tractor from any location, but for now this works just fine, plus I can use this to pick up my finish mower to get easy access for blade changes.

When you are ready to make the hand controls give me a call, I have a few suggestions which I will be incorporating into my controls when I make the final product.

Funny, I'm in the same boat. Have a JD2305 and wanted to upgrade; the green dealer wasn't too interested in being competitive. The non-removable FEL didn't bother me, but the lack of a BH did. Now if my BH would only show up, I could take delivery!

No bashing from me. Looks like a great setup. We have plenty of HF stuff, I don't have any complaints.

OT: One of my regrets with my son, that passed away almost a year ago, is not ever getting him into the tractor seat. He used a powerchair to get around, he had MD, but I believe he could driven the Kubota. I had told him I was going get him on it somehow but that day never came, he left us suddenly without warning.
