This is a big pet peeve of mine, and cause me to wait 15 minutes today :mur:

You know, those gas stations with 16 pumps, and only 4 of them are diesel, and those 4 ALSO have gas at them.

I pull in today on my way back with the tractor and GN trailer. Now since the pumps are soo close to the building, there are only 2 that I can get at with the trailer on. Lo an behold sits a gasser truck, and a little ford focus. OF the 12 other freakin pumps, only 2 are being used :mur::mur:

I can understand if the place is packed and those were the only two pumps, but give me a break. People who have never owned a diesel, probably never give it a second though.

And to top it off, the gassers that are always hogging the diesel pumps, are the ones who always have to pay inside :mur: So just as you see them place the handle back and think you're all set, WRONG, another 5 minutes wasted....

I hear you......I've had jerks leave their car at the pump....go inside...use the restroom...buy a hot dog and drink and wonder why people are PO'd when they come outside and get back it their car. Just inconsiderate jerks!!

Yep, I happened to me today but only had to wait a few minutes. I have griped about it so much my wife will not get near a diesel pump with her car.

I always park my gasoline automobile in front of the diesel pumps.

When I'm filling my diesel can for the tractor.

My peeve is reserved to people at the grocery store too lazy to put their shopping carts in the return corrals and instead leave them all over the doggone parking lot.

If I wanted a slalom course for my car, I'd get a bunch of orange cones.

Here are my two cents, pull to the front pump, let people come behind you. This makes it easier for all to exit, if you are a diesel, and no pumps are available, wait your turn.

Same thing happened to me pulling a 30' camper recently. Pulled a wide loop after entering the station to get fuel on the drivers side of the truck as I am pulling close to the pump a small SUV shoots in and grabs the pump I am heading for and proceeds to pay inside.

The Country Store-Market that is about 1 mile from our Home has 3 pumps. The diesel pump is on the far end of the parking lot. 25 vehicles can park in the parking lot and not tie up the pumps. But on Sunday, when the Churches let out, it is an absolute MESS. The people will park in front of the pumps toward the front door, and go inside and order from the Grill. The Fat Women with their fancy hats and dresses are the most frequent violators. It probably takes an average of 20 minutes for them to place and have their order prepared until they make it back to their car. I am normally a patient person, but when this behavior occurs, I simply block them in with my truck in front of their vehicle. You can't get a sheet of paper between out two vehicles. I had one woman call the Sheriff's Dept. on me once, but I still do it. Call me mean if you like, but I treat folk the way that they treat me.

It's not the main reason, but ___________ like this is one reason I frequent the big Husky truck stop near me. (Fresh fuel being the first).

I can take my pick of high volume pumps, or low volume diesel pumps. Even w/o a trailer, small gas stations can be "not fun". I can still end up waiting the odd time, but esp. during off hours, rarely.

Between the inconsiderate and the unconscious there is a distinction -- but not much. You do have to be conscious to be considerate.

It is my pet peeve also. Pay attention to your surroundings, and be considerate. And if you have to go in and shop, order, etc., MOVE YOUR CAR FIRST!
