Will it work on my Branson 2910i? I'm on my 2nd set of front (ag) tires and the rocks are chewing them up. Also they seem to puncture easier. I'd rather not spring for the rears as they are still in good shape. If the outside diameter is the same then wouldn't they work? I would buy the wheel/tire set since the rims are wider on the Industrial's, I think. The ag's are on 16x7 rims.

If 4wd you have to watch tire diameter. Have to keep it the same. If you can find an r4 that is the same diameter and will fit your rim, then yes it will work.

Outside diameter isn't the important dimension - the dimension you need to match is either rolling circumference or loaded radius. Ag tires typically have more squish than industrials and loaded radius/rolling circumference takes this into account.

Yep, I understand what you're saying and it seems that would be difficult to check without already having the tires on the tractor. You'd have to put an index mark on the ag tire, drive a distance and measure. Then put an industrial tire on the tractor, drive the same distance and check the index mark. I guess you could try it with only one tire. I don't sea any other way. I might just stick with the ag's.

I think that if you get the tires the same overall height as the R4, the squish effect as they call it will not be a problem. I have R1 on my LS and I don't see any squishing of the fronts but they carry the max amount of air as per side wall info (minus 5 PSI) Most tractors are geared to be a little faster (5%) in front so the squish effect if you have any would tend to equal out the rotational distance which would be better for your tractor. You get the same effect with R4 tires as they wear down smaller than the rears.
Just never forget to take your tractor out of 4 WD when on hard dirt or pavement to reduce the strain on the drive train. You may also have to back up a bit when taking it out of 4 WD if it is binding. I have to do this with my RTV 900 sometimes.

Just my own experience with ag tires between rice and cane and regular ones. Matched up the outer diameter fine between the two! Problem was the rice and cane dropped in further then the regular ag tires in tilled or loose soil. Thirty minutes and the grease was boiling out of the u-joints!!!

I'd not be doing what you asked as it would be the same difference only the other way around while working in soft soil.

Your tractor your money! Do as you please.
