Just curious if anyone is still using a 165. I still use my 1986 165 w 38 deck and bagger that I bought new. It works great for trimming and pulling a smaller yard cart. I've even used it to cut over 5 acres when my other tractor was down. It still runs great after 30 years. Replaced the head gasket 5 years ago. Regularly clean out the intake shroud which had caused surging. Replaced electronic ignition mod once. Kawasaki engine. Change oil every year and changed transmission oil on occasion. Rebuilt and painted and weld patch in deck last year. Replaced all tires. New starter. Could use a new seat. Transmission OK. Every winter I think I should look for a cheap replacement but can't see spending 300-400 for a bagging system plus a mower that would do no more than what mine already does. Most of the new ones have transmission problems. I have no clue how many hours I have on it. Mine starts a little funny as I need to choke it at first, but it won't run until the throttle is almost closed and it slowly takes off while starter keeps it running. Probably used 15-35 hrs a year.
