It works, just barely. The "Keyword" search is annoying since it searches on words but apparently not on phrases. Which is strange since the FAQ search engine has search on phrase capabilty. Also would be nice if the Search engine had a "Help" button.

IMHO, the last upgrade to the TBN website really clobbered the Search function. It was significantly more useful before.

Ditto here! I searched for "weather station" ... got lots of "weather" or "station" ... gave up before I found anything. I know there have been many past threads on the subject

ive repeatedly harped on the uselessness of the search on this site and the plea's have gone un answered.

It started with me shortly after i started frequenting the site and decided i would look for a "4 way bucket"

good luck with THAT search (the retarted search function tosses out the "4" and "way" so it searches for only "bucket"... and god knows we hardly ever mention that term.....

Sounds like everyone needs to learn to do internet power search's. :)

Most forum search engines, well, suck. It's a fact of life. The best way to find post on any given site in a forum is to use a internet search engine and use Boolean comands to direct the search engine to the exact page you are looking for.

First, let's look for homemade cabs with Yahoo.

"homemade cab" site:tractorbynet.com

I think this was the post you were looking for. It was the 3rd result in the search. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/build-yourself/48894-homemade-cab.html

Now your asking what the heck is a Boolean command. Here's a great article that describes Boolean searching. Power Searching For Anyone And a great quick reference chart of Boolean commands. Search Features Chart

Once you learn to use internet search engines with Boolean comands there won't be anything you can't find. 99.9% of the time I can find anything I'm looking for online on any site within the top 5 search results. Practice with the commands and you might be supprised how easy it is to find stuff.

Thanks for the help. A Boolean Google search on the TBN website worked fine on the phrase "sickle bar mower", something I'm presently interested in.

As much as I hated the class I took as a freshman in college, learning the how to search with the Boolean method is invaluable. There are very few things I can't find that way.

The problem I am having with this is it takes me to the TBN main discussion page with out going to the topic I searched for even though is found it in the search.
What am I doing wrong?
