Is there a breather pipe in the Yanmar 336D 4wd front axle?

Well I guess that settles that question (assuming they're consistent in production). I do find it interesting that it doesn't show in Yanmar drawings. I'm going to have to look at mine, but I believe it's there. I'll have to run something through it to make sure it's not plugged.

JD950/1050 -same axle
Yanmar put a vent in,just left of the center(little J tube)

That's interesting that Yanmar put a vent in the JD950/1050 .... shows good sense! And it even shows in the JD parts book: John Deere Parts Catalog.
I wonder if rice paddy farming had anything to do with that?

On YM336/JD1050 parts..... I never have checked to see just how many parts are the same between the YM336D and the JD950/1050. Some probably are, but I'd expect similar rather than exactly the same. the Yanmar and JD were surprisingly different for such similar size tractors made by the same company & at the same time. They had different engines and transmissions...different control layout, differnt weights... and who knows what else. So It wouldn't surprise me that a front axle from one would bolt up to the other and might even be interchangeable - but I don't know if the the internal gear ratios would be the same.

I have noticed pressure in mine when I remove the fill plug to check. There is no vent on the 3110D

Pretty sure my 336d does not have that front axle U-shaped breather pipe. It's hard to see under there but pretty sure it isn't there.

That axle does look identical otherwise.
