I am selling my 1986 JD 950 2wd because I haven't been able to plow fast enough, with the last few winters of big snow dumping, to get the snow out of the way. Also it doesn't have power steering. What a bear with a steel cab, loaded tires, rear tire chains,55 gal drum of ice on the 3 pt hitch, front loader and a 7' meyers plow in the bucket. Must weigh 8000lbs. Anyway I do have a 2005 JD 4115 that I would love to find a front snowblower for. Are all the front snow blowers activated by the rear PTO and a underbelly drive shaft? Does this system work? Isn't it prone to breakage and wear from snow and ice scraping under the tractor? I haven't been able to find out much about options for this tractor. Any help would be appreciated. Of course in Ct there will probably be no snow this year but I'd rather be prepared.

HI BobisCool
your 4115 is very similar to the JD 2520/2720 and current 2032R tractors. They all
have front 47 or 54" snowblowers available, and they attach with a front "quick hitch"
and are powered by the mid pto with a front pto kit that extends power up to the
quick hitch.
It looks like they are still available from the factory, check with our local dealer.
The blowers that fit the 2520/2720 will fit your tractor, but you would need the
kit for the front pto for your 4115 tractor.

Bobiscool, I have a 4110 and a 47" front blower. I will be going into my fourth winter with this setup and have had no problems (except replacing a shear pin when doing my neighbors rock laden drive) . It works great and installs in nothing flat with no tools needed. I strongly recommend it.

Thanks guys. I will talk with my local dealer and see what he can do for me. Is there a reason not to go with the 54" vs the 47"?

Bob, I think your tractor has more horsepower than mine. I have never had mine bog down, even in heavy wet snow, so I wouldn't hesitate getting the 54 inch for your machine.

Also, if you go with the Deere blower, and in the future you want a front blade or broom the Deere blades and brooms will mount right up to the quick hitch that the blower will use.. Another thing, is the Deere attachments hold their value very well if taken care of..
