I was looking over my eMax25 after working it hard. I noticed there was a drip under the front axle, on the left. I traced it to the coolant overflow hose. Since there's plenty of room in the battery area...

Is there an advantage to putting a coolant overflow can? Other than some drips on the floor.

I'm actually surprised it doesn't have one.

The advantage is you never lose coolant. The system can burp out some during hard use and then suck it back into the system during cooling.

My 1989 Ford doesn't use an overflow tank. If I had room I'd install one. Every time I've opened the radiator cap it's been a bit low on coolant. Can't run it completely full like you can a system that catches the burps.

Looks like it would be easy to add something. An old milk jug attached to the tube you already have.
It looks like you have a nice fuel filter with a shut off too. Nicer than my machine has. And you have a horn, another thing I don't have. A horn to blow at the squirrels and other critters. Don't know why you need a horn on a tractor but if someone has one and I don't then I need one.

I'm surprised, you being in CA and all, that you aren't required to have a horn AND airbags. :)

I'll search some parts yards to see if I can't find a small catch bottle. The alternative would be a soda bottle as @dickfoster said. That's 2nd.

The 1st is more lights pointing front and rear.

Don't give them any silly ideas. They're aggravating enough on their own without any help.

The advantage is you never lose coolant. The system can burp out some during hard use and then suck it back into the system during cooling.

And without the overflow tank (also known as a coolant recovery tank), it not only pushes some coolant out, but then as it cools, it sucks air back into the radiator and that MAY lead to rust or corrosion.

My 1989 Ford doesn't use an overflow tank. If I had room I'd install one. Every time I've opened the radiator cap it's been a bit low on coolant. Can't run it completely full like you can a system that catches the burps.

I used to have a 1981 Ford F250 that didn't have an overflow tank until I added one myself.

Can't remember how far back when we started getting overflow tanks. Maybe when they switched to aluminum/plastic radiators... ??????

My 73 CJ5 didn't have one. My 77 F150 did. Both had copper radiators.

I'm going to be putting one in that's air tight as possibe. That way no dirt will get into the cooling system.
