Is there a truck plow shortage?

Snow plow demand must be up this season, my wife's uncle is driving up here to Maine from Southeast PA on Sunday to bring back a load of Boss Snow Plows for their contracting business.

I find this a little odd because of the distance involved and the fact Boss plows are made in Michigan, and not a locally made Northeastern brand like Fisher or Curtis. You'd think dealers in PA could get Boss snow plows from a nearer source.

Is anyone else seeing signs of a snowplow shortage?

I don't know about plows but, there is a shortage of 3 point snowblowers around here in NW OH/SE MI/NE IN.

No shortage of plows in Central NY. Tons of them new and used for sale on CL (Syracuse) and local paper always has ads for new plows at dealers.

We took a trip over to Rockport (ME) yesterday and passed 3 loads of Fishers heading out on Rt. 17. The price of plows nowadays might make a dealer a little skittish to overstock from last years sales.:confused3:

I have been waiting weeks already for a Boss V UTV plow for my RTV1100. Dealer is checking many other dealers. I just called and talked to customer service guy at Boss plant. He said they are working overtime and can't meet the demand. He did provide some pictures of installations on the RTV1100. I just finished installing the Kubota (over priced) strobe beacon. The Kubota engineers have done a great job pre-wiring for accessories, however, the Kubota instructions are very vague and general. Too bad they don't capitalize on all the good pre-planning.

My uncle-in-law from PA successfully finished the trip to pickup snow plows in Maine. These Boss V-Plows are now at the dealer in Fleetwood, PA.



He was wondering if the recent merger with Toro and Boss would have anything to do with the supply shortage. ie Reorganizing a company just before a busy snow plow season could be bad timing.

There's a happy Boss dealer in Potland after that load! He must have been just "window shopping" (after that purchase) at Cabela's!
