I am looking for some help in identifying the type of thread this plug has so I am sure I get the right fitting to go in its place. From what I can tell this is an 18mm ISO 261 thread (or metric ORB?) . But when I try to find a fitting for this, I cannot find it. I have looked at Northern Tool, surplus center and discount hydraulic hose.

It is the plug right below the transmission filler cap on a JD 3203 (same as the 3120 and 3320 uses).

I not only want to get a fitting for this but I also want to convert this to something more common like NPTF, which seems to be very common especially to connect QD fittings.

I also would appreciate some tips on where to find a conversion fitting. I.E. This thread to a 1/2 NPTF for example.

Suggestions and comments are appreciated.

TxJim,

That is super helpful. I knew the part number, but not the specs.

Where can I go to find out those details on other parts? It looks like it is off off JDParts website but dang it I do not see how to access that level of detail. I hate to bug people like this, but the help is really appreciated. I suspect other folks new to all of this would appreciate it too.

For the benefit of other newbies, I will post a screen shot of the JDParts page with colored circles on the plugs on the rockshaft housing. The one in red - number 28 is the one that I want to put a Hydraulic drain line in to....The part numbers are a separate attachment.

Also attached is the page out of the hydraulics fitting guide that I think shows this is an 18mm ISO 261 fitting... I have some doubts on it actually being a ISO 261 fitting though because that style seems to be so rare on all the hydraulic suppliers website...So I am looking for some help so I know what fitting (not plug) to buy.

Hope this makes sense.

Finding JD parts spec's is easy if the spec's are listed which not all JD parts have spec's listed. One must be registered on JDparts.com with a JD dealer. Then put part in ones shopping cart, then left click on part number in shopping cart & if spec's are available they will show up. JD is in the process of upgranding their parts system so this might not work when they change. Did I state "I can't wait" NOT REALLY.

Jim,

Interesting round about way that JD chose to share that, but great to know. I will give it a try.

Thanks.
