It\'s Rumor Time, boogedy, boogedy . . .

. . . boogedy, boogedy, shoot!

With apologies to Chubby Checker, its time to start the the rumors of a Brand New Tractor Series. Last year at this time it was the first rumors of the JD TEN Series. Today, I was told by two different dealers that they have been informed there will be a major revamping of the Grand L series to be announced in October. Neither knew the details.

Well, there go my dreams of a 3710. No sense spending money I don't really have on a product that will drop like a rock in price come October while being crushed into technological obsolescence by the new Kubota juggernaut--whatever it may be.

Or is that the wrong attitude?

Re: It\'s Rumor Time, boogedy, boogedy . . .

I have heard through "reliable sources" that the L-4610 would be void of any such catastrophic changes due to the major refinements recently made in this tractors portfolio. I guess all the rest though had better beware.

Re: It\'s Rumor Time, boogedy, boogedy . . .

My experience has shown me that compact tractors don't depreciate quite like the Auto/Truck market does after a model change.

With the rebates and rates, right now would seem to be a good time to buy.

But,if I were in the market for an L-Series,and was not in any hurry to buy,I would wait to see what Kubota was going to offer before taking the plunge.

Situations like this are a double edge sword. The 3710 is a well made proven machine. As someone else mentioned perhaps now might be the best time to buy one. When the new models come out, they won't be "giving" them away.

That is definitely the wrong attitude. You should buy right away, before any price reduction, so as to support the market - then trade up, essentially giving your six-month old tractor back to the dealer.

Re: It\'s Rumor Time... What Will They Change?

What do you think they will change?

Maybe some curvy cosmetics and plastic to make them look feminine and sissy like Boomer and JD. That would be unimportant to me.

The electronic jazz of the new JD TEN is also uninteresting to me and seems just a potential for breakdowns and problems. I like the Occam's Razor aspect of Kubota's.

Here are some new functions needed:

1. Front differential lock.
2. More integrated loader valve and arm that stays on tractor to control other things when fel is off.
3. More built in hydraulic outlets for TnT, augurs and other hydraulic accessories and implements.
4. A new easy-to-remove backhoe.
5. A frame size between the 2910 and the 3010.
6. Split brakes on the right side.....I mean, the left side.....You know, the correct side.
7. Eliminate the clutch.
8. Ability to lock the loader in place.
9. Ability to turn regeneration on or off in the loader circuit.
10. Much more easy to attach and remove mid-mount mowers.

Feel free to add to the list.

Re: It\'s Rumor Time... What Will They Change?

I heard that Tonka was going to buy out Kubota. You would make the appropriate motor noise to have the motor size you would like or need. The instruction manual would direct you to the closest sand pile, with little boys in attendance, so they could instruct you in technique. You can also learn that girls are boogers, I know, I was just told by a local expert. The only difference between men and boys are the price of their toys. I am going to march in and tell my wife she is a booger, just after I get done vacuuming!

Re: It\'s Rumor Time... What Will They Change?

Having reviewed my list, I realize this tractor already exists, except for front diff lock. It's a JD 43/4410!

By the way, Chubby Checker's daughter, Misty Bass of Wisconsin, is a 6'3" All American high school basketball player who will be attending Duke next fall.

Re: It\'s Rumor Time... What Will They Change?

I read your list and thought the same thing./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif If you don't want all the new bells and whistles on the Ten series JDs there are probably a few 43-4400s still around. The dealers may be more willing to deal on these since the ten series tractors came out.
