So, I recently got this "not so gently used" 110 TLB and found an unexpected issue with the transmission cutting out. When backing up, the service light flashes code 2 which I think indicates a reverse potentiometer issue. After sitting for a few seconds, transmission works fine until the light flashes again. Few days ago I also got a code 9 which indicates a simultaneous forward and reverse pedal command. I knew getting into this deal was a risk, but still felt the deal was right not to pass it up. Before I spend all kinds of crazy money with local dealers, is this something that the JD community has seen? I read somewhere that sensors on these machines tend to act up. What about calibration of the potentiometer? Any help is appreciated!

First thought, do you have the service tech manual for the 110 tlb?

I would first suspect the seat switch when the transmission cuts out. If you move in the seat just a little it can disconnect and cause your problem. I would start by checking the seat switches there are two of them and make sure the connections are clean and tight. I find that during loader work I have better results just moving the seat forward a notch to maintain contact.

With the go pedals if you touch both at the same time you will get this error, let off both pedals for a second or two and it resets.

Bought it as a "fixer", then getting the service tech manual(s) for the 110 tlb would be my first suggestion.

I agree that the service manual is a must have item. His issues are common though, if I lean forward very much to see the loader bucket I can easily stop the transmission as he mentions.

Turning slightly in the seat makes it easy to touch both pedals and get the error code too. Just a matter of getting use to the machine.

shoot me your email and I'll send you a PDF of the Deere Tech manual for it

Thanks guys.... Full disclosure: the seat switches are not even on.... Someone before me pulled wires right out and twisted them to avoid having to deal with the seat issues. That may be causing a short of some sort as well. Anyway, I have new switches on the way to fix this issue.

As far as calibration of the potentiometer.... Did anyone have a similar problem?

I just went through a very similar situation with my 110 tlb. I have the manual and changed my seat switches as well. Like others are saying make sure you stay planted on the seat and yes until you get a feel for the operation and trying to see the front or bucket you may lift off of the seat without even realizing you are doing it. My machine only had 600 hours on it when I purchased it and I now the history and previous owner but the same things you are describing happened with it. I had my Green dealer send a field tech out to adjust both fwd. and rev. potentiometers and it worked great for about four hours of minimal use. Again started with no response to either petal without even leaving the garage. Green dealer picked machine up replaced potentiometers and still had same issues. This is not as easy to trouble shoot as what the codes are saying and the book. Dealer put original potentiometers back on and had to replace transmission controller LVA16917 @ $ 731.36 along with some other small pieces and labor for a final cost $ 1993.24 If you have any questions contact me.

I agree that trouble shooting this issue is a maze of electrical and mechanical work. Certainly not something I can do it on my own. I will take care of all the switches and then bring it to have it looked at.
