I have been looking at the possibility of going green with a 2320 for my property and have 2 different JD dealers selling me a 2320 package with one having a 54" Frontier Rear Blower and the other a 64"

Gut feeling is that a 64 is too large for a 2320?

Looking for advice....

Cheers,

Often times there is a significant difference in 10" size difference in implements to the point that your concern is valid. From what I can tell, there isn't a significant difference in these two sizes in terms of weight, requirements, etc. I think you would be fine with the 64".

the JD one is 47" and is enough to work the 2320 well. Deere doesn't offer anything bigger(for the 2320) so I would bet 64" is way too big! 64 is about the size of the 3xxx series blowers.

I am not sure about the 47" one as the tractor is probably wider than that which would not make sense. I am pretty sure the 54" one for the rear would be STD with the 64" being + 1

Frontier recommends a minimum 20 HP PTO and the unit weighs 505 pounds. As long as your unit can put out the minimum HP required and can support the 3 PT weight, I would go with the 64".

I kind of know what you are going through and I'm not going to be much help. I also have a 2320 and wanted a snowblower, and ended up buying a 62" Pronovost in the spring of 2011. Last fall I attached it to the tractor, greased it, and left it in the garage all winter because we never got quite enough snow to try it.....................which wasn't a bad thing.

I have the 54" Frontier blower. I would recommend it, as I think the 64" would be too much. The larger blower would be fine with fluffy snow, and only a few inches, but with wet heavy snow, I need to go slow to keep the rpm's up and the snow blowing.

I have a 2320 with a 60 blower. Its on the big side. I'm considering down sizing. Its to much blower for the first pass. For subsequent passes you can just take less(narrower passes) snow, but what's the point. Pretty sure jd recommends the 47'' and the 54''. I'd go with 54.
