Neighbor has a 410C with MFWD and the steering is very erractic.
Symptoms are:
Steering wheel turns freely but the wheels do not turn. This happens steering in both directions. This becomes more prevalant as the oil gets hotter. I do not have a schematic or service manual to see what and or where there are test points.
Are there pressure test points on this machine? If so where are they.
On this machine if the priority valve is sticking would the steering wheel turn freely or be very hard to turn? I am thinking hard since it does not turn easily with the engine off.
Is there some form of anti-cavitation checks in the steering unit that would allow the oil to by-pass the steering cylinder?
When the system works it will turn even with a full bucket.
All other functions operate correctly.
TIA
Roy
