Hi. Does anyone know when the JD 4x10 series tractors will come out? And does anyone know what is supposed to be enhanced with these new machines?

Syxx Killer (what a handle!!)

One of the realities of modern product deployment is that everyone is getting into the act about announcing new product lines way before they are ready. I don't care what company, Ford, Chrysler-Daimler, JD, Microsoft, etc. They all do it. Build up the excitement with minimal information. Back a few years ago in the computer industry, this was called vaporware. You just had to wait for the product to come out to find out all of the necessary information.

Just hit the JD site every once in a while, that will be the true indication as to when the product will be available.

Unless you know of an insider..../w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I talked to a John Deere rep at the Ohio Farm Science Reveiw who really seemed to know his stuff. He told me the 4010 series should be out at the end of November and was very surprised that I even knew they were coming out at all. I asked mainly about the 4710 hydro and these are some of the things that are gonna be available on it. The hydraulics to the rear will be controled by the loader joy stick via a rocker switch and solenoid to switch from loader to rear hydraulics. The third set of hydraulics will be controled by a lever down beside the seat. On the 4710 the hydro is controled by electric over hydraulic and will take thirteen #s preasure to enguage. It will have a cruise control that works like a car, you can bump up the speed by pushing a button or slow down the same way and I think he said it has a memory to return back to the same speed. The pto control is a rocker switch on the top of the fender where cup holder is located.(all rocker switches are located on right fender) They redone the operation of the tilt steering but I don't remember in what ways. Some of the options include tip and tilt on the 3-point hitch, a quick hitch that will hook to all the new Frontier equipment being made for Deere by Woods, and he said they are leading the industry to make all cat. 1 equipment to be a standard measure. Prices were not set at the time but if you were to get all the options on the 4710 it sounds like it could be pretty scarey, I will probably find out in a few months as I will be ordering one. I can't think of anything more but I'm sure I'm forgetting some things. Hope this helps, budinohio.
