JD 855 1987
Hi,

I have a JD 855 1987, i have some problem with the SCV, but to replace it, it's like 3000$.

I found it dont have return hose, directly bolt and return on transmission housing.

The question is, can i remove it, block the return hole and install an aftermarket flow divider and control valve and send the return hose to a plug on the top of transmission?

Thanks :)

Did you go thru the TM1360 Technical Shop Service Manual to troubleshoot and rebuilt the SCV first?
See section 210-05-10 for trouble shoot guide.
See section 70-10-1 thru 70-10-10 to rebuild.

Thanks for the diagram.

Yes i have try to rebuilt, but i think the 2 plunger need to be replaced, it's like if i have internal leak and i have a big free play in the joystick.

I think it will be like 1/4 or 1/3 of price to install an aftermarket spool.

I want to discart the SCV to install the new spool/flow divider at same place

For the rockshaft valve i can maybe drill and tap NPT thread and install fitting

I just dont understand the 2 hole in the rockshaft Valve, If i install aftermarket spool i need to send the N connector to the rockshaft valve to have pressure send to it (power beyond of spool valve). But where i send the Return line?

Maybe One hole is pressure and the other is return. But it's like the 2 hole its straight to the piston? And the SCV have 3 hole and 1 hole look like to be block at the rockshaft valve

With the diagram, we see one line pass straight the scv to rockshaft is pressure,, the pressure for scv with an "x" at the end, i think it's maybe the blocked hole at the rockshaft valve. And the return line just stop in the float section???
