This is going to probably going to be stupid question....

I bought a JD 870 tracor with a Bush Hog 760 Hoe and have used it for several months. I removed the Hoe this evening as instructed in the manual. After disconnecting the hydraulics, the rockshaft/3-point hitch will not raise. The motor seems to be bound like it is under load. Is there something that I need to do after disconnecting the Hoe?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Welcome New Member !

Open the Rockshaft Stop Valve. Its located on the vertical panel below the seat bottom above the transmission shroud. Theres a round knob to turn. If you have a manual, look on page 45 and note the caution about it being fully closed. If you don'y have a manual, get one for maintenance, tire/wheel spacing, and safety issue resolution. eBay is full of them....

Welcome to TBN:D

The two hoses that fed the backhoe NEED to be connected back together. This is called the "power beyond" loop and has the full flow of hydraulic system flowing through it whenever the tractor is running.
