On my Jinma 184 with the TY290 engine, in the front of the fuel injection pump there is what looks to be a fluid sump with a red cap on it. I cannot remember but is this the power steering fluid reservoir? If it is how do I tell when it has enough fluid in it? Right now I cannot see any fluid of any type in it.

Thanks
Gary

Seem to be losing what little brain cells I started with, cannot seem to remember anything lately

That is where you can add engine oil, your PS operates off the Hydraulic fluid, check fluid behind the seat where the top is painted red, it should have a short dipstick. Hydraulic tank is separate from the trans and rear end. You are actually setting on the tank. Your seat is bolted to the tank. Your hydraulic fluid is your PS fluid. If your steering is acting funny it may be the seals in the cylinder. Let us know if we can help.

Ok thanks, power steering and all the hydraulics working fine, just could not remember what that thing was for. I have always added oil at the two caps on top of the valve cover.
