- Jinma 284
I recently purchased a 2007 Jinma 284 that has been sitting for 8-10 years. The previous owner said the only thing wrong with it was the water pump went out. He had started changing the water pump but for some reason he never completed that job and the tractor just sat with the water pump removed and the air filter disconnected from the intake manifold. I removed the intake manifold to make sure there wasn't anything inside after sitting for so long and found a mouse or small rat had gotten in there died and decomposed. I removed the head cleaned everything real good lapped the valves and I'm in the process of putting everything back together. The fuel system is pretty gummed up but I'm dealing with that okay I think. What I'm now wondering is what other things should I be on the lookout for in a tractor that has set for 8 to 10 years. I do plan on changing all the fluids and filters. Any advice on what other things to look out for would be greatly appreciated.
