so she cranks but wont fire! I found she isn't getting fuel because after some testing without luck I finally decided to put gasoline on a rag and cover the intake with it and she fired right up. This tells me it is getting everything but fuel. I noticed I wasn't hearing the click as usual from the fuel solenoid I replaced it and still nothing. so I tested the old one now that it was out and it works also smh. I tested the wires and it isn't getting voltage. I figured I would check the fuses and relays, not knowing which one was for the fuel solenoid I noticed the entire panel looks dirty and dusty as you can imagine because the panel was loose and the cover is missing. I cleaned everything off with electrical cleaner, and put dielectric grease on all fuses and relays as I did once before. except for this time after I cleaned everything up the tractor didn't fire right up like it did once before by doing this; without replacing a single thing! I had just cleaned everything up and bolted the panel back down. I still don't have a cover though. This led me to believe this was the issue again but it wasn't. I did notice a wire coming off the starter that was thicker then the rest and it is getting really hot! like extremely hot. idk if this unit has a thermistor but I've searched without any luck on finding the location or even a part. What I did do is order the (LVA11884 Electronic Fuel solenoid Timer Control Module) I hope that this is in the right direction. In the mean time id like to find out why that positive wire is getting so hot! I plan on checking grounds again and possibly taking all the wires off the starter and cleaning everything up. if anyone has any opinions or has gone through a similar situation your help would be greatly appreciated. This backhoe is currently on a job site and not operational.

On my JD x495 that experienced the same problem, I had to replace the Control Module, Fuel cut of Solenoid on the injector pump and the relay.

I would stop in at the JD Dealer and ask if you could look at their manual or if they would could provide a printout for the test procedure for the three aforementioned components.

Using a volt meter Work backwards from the injector cut of solenoid. You should have voltage on the solenoid from the time the switch is turned on until it is turned off.

Replaced the timer relay and cleaned all the connections to the starter, charged the battery to 12.9v (it's brand new) and everything seems to be clicking and turning on. Only thing now is I believe one of my hands kept trying to start the backhoe until he burned my starter up! Smh if it ain't one thing it's another. Starter doesn't sound good at all. Everything seems to be clicking on though now. I can hear the fuel solenoid clicking so now I'm going to get a starter and I'll keep yall updated. Thanks

P.s this is what I replaced to get the fuel solenoid working again. Hopefully it helps someone in the future. (John Deere LVA11884 Electronic Fuel solenoid Timer Control Module)

I found the thermistor in my 4200 right in the middle of a wire bundle. Had to spread out the wire bundle to see it.
