John Deere 2155 Battery size

I have a JD 2155 that i just got the alternator rebuilt on. My brother in law took out the old bad batteries and now they have dissappeared.:confused2: Does any one know the size/group number that fits this tractor????? I have the two battery set up. Thanks

The Deere dealer has two different sets in stock. Both sets have the same CCA rating but one model has a higher amp hour capacity.
Purchase an extra "ground " cable and run it from a battery (-) to a mounting post on the starter. Also connect and use the factory's 2nd rate connection to the sheet metal.
I was shocked at how much faster the engine cranked with the same batteries and starter with the proper (-) chassis return connection.

This is what's listed for a 2155 with dual batteries. These are 55AH batteries . 88 AH battery is shown with only one battery.

The battery compartment could the same size on the three cylinder 2155 and four cylinder 1640? The four cylinder specs larger batteries which will be welcome even on a three cylinder on a cold day, if they fit.

This disclaimer comes up when AL203837 is inserted in a JD parts search on JD's website. b&d isn't a dry charged battery supposed to have a better self life than a wet charged battery?
