2011 JD 3320, 2004 JD Gator HPX
I recently purchased a used JD 3320 with 300x FEL. When I purchased it, I didn't notice the FEL was missing two pin fasteners which held another long pin in (not sure what this pin is actually called, but it's the pin that connects the two boom arms together which is located directly behind the bottom of the bucket).

I was using the FEL this weekend and noticed the pin was floating away on me (see pics below). Luckily, we noticed before the pin slid to far out. Does anyone know what size these pin fasteners are and where I can find them? They seem pretty expensive to order JD brand ones ($4.54 each, plus shipping). I was able to get my hands on some 7/16"x2" clevis pins from Home Depot, but they are just a hair too large to fit through the holes. Any other ideas?

  • John Deere - Pin Fastener (Item: W33912)
  • John Deere - Cotter Pin | 3.200 X 25 mm RH (Item: 11M7015)

Also, I need to replace a broken zerk fitting on the end of the pin, are these standard 1/4" x 28 straight grease fittings?

As you can tell from the pictures, the long pin looks like it has been hit with a hammer a few times, so I'm not sure if I'll need to replace this one in the near future. Does this pin need to sit flush against the arm? This pin is also not very cheap (~$150).

Thanks in advance for the help.

that long bar is a timing bar, it helps keep both sides of your bucket paddles
in time when going into the bucket if you change front attachments. it does look
like it has been beat a bit!
the spec for that pin is .394 diameter, you could probably use a 3/8" bolt or something close and
you'd be ok. there shouldn't be excess forces on those pins.

here is what i could find on the zerk:
Grease fitting—straight self-tapping. For 1/4-in.-28
special taper drive thread. 35/64-in. overall length.

Thanks for the info, Dutch. I want the pins to fit as tightly as possible in there, so there is as little play in the timing bar as possible. It looks like the prior owner had some loose fitting pins in, which may have opened up the holes a bit.

I just noticed I had the wrong measurement for the clevis pins that I found. They are 7/16" diameter, not 7/8". I'll need something just a hair smaller.

The JD pins fit loosely, so don't fret over it. When the bucket (or other attachment) is mounted this timing bar doesn't do anything anyway.

Also, register (for free) at www.jdparts.com , then you'll have access to the same basic parts system the dealers use to look stuff up. There is a quick tutorial linked in my sig below if you need help with it.

Thanks, kennyd. I think a 3/8"x2" clevis pin will work just fine, if not I'll go to my local JD dealer and order the JD ones.

Here's the part number and spec's if you decide you want an OEM pin.

FYI, if you use bolts rather than pins; .394" = 10mm
