John Deere 4020 tow lever won't reengage

I was helping a friend do some work on a 4020 they bought, and in removal of a panel, we bumped the transmission disconnect lever (by the left heel as you sit), and no matter what we try, we cannot get it to reengage...anybody got any ideas?

I've only heard it called the tow lever, and the book calls it the transmission disconnect. It's in the cab, just to the left and back from my left heel as I sit. It's close to horizontal and it is only about 6 inches long from where it sticks out from a slot in the floor.

It should just go straight back to disengage, but it won't budge.

Yep, even jacked up both wheels am tried turning them while my buddy tried pulling the lever...no luck...mostly just wondering if there's some random trick to it...it's probably something ridiculously simple

Problem solved...had to pull the floor up and found that it was catching on a piece of metal under the floor...weird. Thanks for the help
