Really bad day for my 4100 HST.. Rear PTO Popped while chipper shredder was reducing RPMS. Sad part is... The original PTO shaft went about 10 years ago..$100 fix..now it's upwards of $800 plus.due to them changing the PTO shaft supplier. The good thing for the moment.. I've replaced the cover plate with a wood temp so I can still use the JD. But tilling time will soon be upon me, regarding the cover plate.. has anyone ran across anyone that can fab one out of carbon metal and NOT that weak aluminum cast that JD used .
