John Deere 575 Skid Steer, vertical line of rust in cylinder.... RUN it or dont?

I have a John deere 575 that has sat a few years not operating because prior owner broke the drive chains and never fixed. Before I put all the money into the drive system I want to verify the motor will perform. I pulled the cylinder head, and 3rd cylinder toward the cab was full of antifreeze. No telling how long it sat like that. Anyway there is a vertical line of rust... The rest of the cylinder looks good. Motor turns over by hand fine,no crunching,grinding sounds. Will it run as is and work fro me?

You will need to hone that out to protect the rings and maintain compression.

So I will have to pull engine and disassemble to hone one cylinder, is there a way to do it with piston still in there?

Not and get it completely true.
You may have to go oversized rings after and if so you will want to make all cylinders the same.
With that much fluid in the cylinder how do the valves look?

Also, was there coolant in the oil?

Thats not what i wanted to hear, this thing is a money pit. Valves were a little rusted, but nothing that won't clean up. There was no coolant in the oil. Guess I will start the teardown process .

If you plan to use this machine hard a for a long time this will be time and money well spent.
