Hi Brian,
Good luck with the new tractor!
I traded my 2320 in for the 2720( got it end of March). I kept my front loader, 47" blower and my 46 backhoe. Lots more power is an understatement. Get the most power you can in a machine. By the way the new 2720 uses less fuel then the 2320 (check the specs). It's a better engine and has auto startup if you run out of fuel. You can feel the power when it starts. I thought I was on a much bigger tractor but I love the size of the 2000 series Deere tractors. I pull in hi gear up hills with the loader and hoe on with no trouble and it doesn't bog down when I turn on hydrolics. I just picked up an HC-60 Woods rotary cutter last week for my fields too. The mid mower deck is a pain in the butt when you have a backhoe so I traded in my 62D deck.
Best set up is get a zero turn to mow and let your tractor do the heavy stuff like rough fields if you can afford it.
I wonder why people don't just go for the 2720. When you have this thing for ten or fifteen years the price doesn't make much difference and the hydrolics run much better. Deere downplays the power but even with that check to see how much more you get at the PTO with the 2720 over the other 2's. I'm glad I went to the 2720 and not the 2520 from my 2320. Try them both and then tell me which one you'd rather have.
Bottom line all the 2's are great but the 2720 is the best of the lot, it's a great machine and it goes places the 3 series doesn't.
