Tractor
New Holland TC40A
My TC40A tractor was delivered today, in the rain. I thought it might be fun to find out just how many out there took delivery of their tractors, in other than the best of conditions.

I pulled my van out of the garage, so he could pull the tractor in there and give me all the ins and outs and answer any questions I might have. Now I will be waiting however many days it takes for this rain to stop and the ground to dry up some so I can do anything with it.

Funny, I was not as excited as I thought I would be when they brought it, maybe it was because I was freezing to death or maybe I am still thinking that this tractor is too big for my needs.

But I am sure I will get used to it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

OK., the weather was BEAUTIFUL!! But it came as my wife was leaving for the weekend. She seemed awful sorry to leave (I am not all too sure it wasn't the tractor she was missing...)

Congrats on the fine tractor choice!! It'll fit like a glove before you know it....

My delivery day was about 20 degrees and very clear out. Was I excited? I forgot to give the salesman his check - it was funny we went through all the features again and I asked questions. Finally it was time for him to leave and he reminded me of a doorman waiting for a tip - he finally said "ugh, you need to give me a check" Jeez I felt like an idiot. So yes, I was like a little kid getting a new toy.

I hope your tractor "excites" you soon - it sure is a nice one. If it fits in your garage I doubt it's too big.

Good Luck, /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Sorry Girl, mine was delivered on a nice, only cool, day in late January here in Florida. We took it off the dealer's trailer, and I said bye and went to work. I think I did about 2 hours of clearing that day. You'll get used to the tractor very quickly and then wonder how you could have thought it was too much! Or at least I hope so. LOL. Congratulations. John

Congrats Traci..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I took delivery at about 5:30 PM early June, sun out.......beautiful day. I was sitting where I could observe the drive because I am just a 47 year old kid /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
When Bud pulled in with the Boomer, I got this great big grin on my face and told my wife "Hey, Let's go, it's here !!!"
Bud showed me all the ins and outs and made me drive it for him while mowing, to see if the cut on the lawn looked right. He wasn't happy so he made an adjustment or two to the deck. After we got all that out of the way, he said he had to go back to the shop even though they were closed. I told him to radio the boss and tell him you'd be a few more minutes and since he lived just a few miles away, he ought to take the company truck home for the night. Boss agreed, so we had an adult beverage before he left. It was a great day for me /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hmmm, Bud was my Kubota salesman's name, too. And he delivered both the new ones I bought (1995 and 1999) himself (a little over 50 miles one way) and very nice weather both times.

Bud was the assembler and delivery guy. He "assembles" and preps every piece of machinery they sell. He also delivers all the rental units (they do a large construction equipment volume). For that fact alone, I trusted him more than the salesman /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Salesmen know figures and specs. Bud has since moved into sales........they know NOT what they did /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
But I'd buy from him in a heartbeat /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I must be the only guy on TBN that went to the dealer with his own trailer and picked it up. I got the call at work that my tractor was ready. I went home, hooked up the trailer, went and got my tractor and then went to my parents house for supper. Unloaded there and played for about 30 minutes. It was Wednesday, so it was a church night. I pulled into the parking lot at church and before the truck was completely stopped guys were heading to the truck to check the new Deere out.

I got my little 790 before we moved so it was delivered to our subdivision home. Had the biggest tractor in that neighborhood for sure! Sunny, warm fall day and had all the neighbors wondering as we hadn't yet mentioned we'd be building soon. Enjoyed it all but it's funny how the tractor has shrunk considerably since we moved to the rural property /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
