That would be a better detriment than 20 years on death row with 3 hots and a cot, full medical, dental and vision coverage.

Guess I will have to swim upstream on this one, "suspect" troubles me as well as mob "justice".

Agree 100%!!

Mob justice is not justice...as others have written, being a suspect does not mean being the perpetrator.
Now, if proven guilty...that swift and furious execution is fine with me...

emotions aren't a good fodder for passing laws or determining guilt.

"Proven guilty" is not without its problems also.

There are mobs, and then there are prosecutors, police and witnesses that are abusing the justice system in their own ways that are not innocent mistakes. Certainly (I hope) it's a very small minority of cases, but there are innocent people in jail, and innocent people have faced the death penalty--all accomplished by a justice system that prides itself on the rule of law.

Real justice, like many things, requires citizen vigilance.

Like Roy said, as long as it was indeed the right person....

But if it was, then I couldn't agree more with the way this one turned out. Bet you the next guy who wants to rape someone in that town decides to take his "business" elsewhere.

The next guy will simply point at his neighbor, then help bury him...
