I am coming to the Wizards of Smart out there with this annoying problem. Our 2017 Kawasaki Mule 4010 Trans 4X4 is under warranty and this problem is most likely covered. What is happening is the idle is erratic, sometimes it idles just fine, but here of late it won't idle at all, it just dies. Most of the time it surges to the point that it cannot be left in gear without the brakes being applied. The operator's manual, page 110, states that the "Idle adjustment is controlled by the ECU and cannot be adjusted. If the idle is unstable, have your dealer inspect the throttle body." I called the dealer and was told that once dropped off, due to the workload, they couldn't even tell me when I might get it back. We run a small goat operation and the Mule is used numerous times a day. If any one know how to deal with this problem, speak up. Before doing anything, I'll first check with the dealer to be sure I won't be voiding the warranty.

I got the same problem with service by the dealer.

For the first 20hr service I'm told the dealer MUST do because Kawaski requires them to. So let's make an appointment for that, they will not do that. I typically use my Mule first thing in the morning before I've even have a cup of coffee, and pull it back into the garage at dark. I USE it every day of the week. I don't want it to SIT at the dealer until they get to it....that is ********, and it really sticks in my craw.

Can't help you with dealer other than suggest trying to get them to make an appointment. I've been able to do that a couple of times by giving them my credit card to pay for missed appointment if I fail to show. If you haven't already, drain fuel and put it in something less particular. Go to Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada to see if there's a place near you that sells ethanol-free fuel. It's pricey but most places that sell lawn equipment sell 1 gallon containers of ethanol free. If not,see if a private airport will sell you some aviation fuel. Treat 2 or three gallons with fuel injector cleaner to see if that helps. Neither of those should effect warranty but have a 1 in 3 chance of helping.
