Sure sounds like a great deal to me. My local dealer seems to have pretty good deals as well

I would NEVER buy ANY tractor from any dealer that was not local to me. No exceptions. In the end, you'll get stung.

Reason being is, all dealers are independent businessmen and as such, if you need dealer intervention (and you will at some point), you go to the bottom of the barrel.

W/E, I don’t work for a tractor dealer. The brand has 0 loyalty to their customers or employees so why should we care

I see this said often enough to know its not true. Fact is all dealers make money from the service department. I have yet had a problem getting mine to the dealer. Granted its only been once but it was a none issue. What if you moved from another state. Some of you are suggesting the new to you dealer isn't going to service your tractor or report just bc you moved. There are instances where they maybe busy b/c they deal with large farming operations. So in that instance yes you may find yourself waiting.

Money is money. I haven't purchased a pickup in my local area for over a decade simply b/c they can't offer the price I want to pay. They will gladly work on my pickup when i need them too. I feel like those of you that "would never buy any tractor that wasn't local" probably dont buy vehicles locally. This is a complete non issue really. If you do have a dealer like that. Dont go to him

I agree with you. I have bought my fair share of vehicles from our local Chevy dealership that the wife graduated with the top salesman but this last truck we bought from a different dealer, had it a week and a half and a couple lifters broke, they said from the cylinder deactivate whatever they call it. Broke on a Sunday, talked to service writer of local dealer Monday when they opened, had it towed there and back home fixed Tuesday afternoon.

I live in a poorer/notably more rural part of the state.

I'll buy local because I like the money going to the local folks.

While my tractor dealer will work on anything from any brand, they don't get much from the company for warranty work. Would they prioritize someone who bought at a different dealer or someone who bought off their lot. Don't know. Honestly, I just like the folks at my dealer-true family run business and good people on a side road of a little no stop light town.

Same thing with vehicles. I'll buy local provided they have the stock until they burn me or piss me off in other ways. I'm not spending a dime at the local Chevy dealer while their manager is still there.

I can see where buying a new tractor from the nearest dealer could be a big deal with the some of the brands, where frequent dealer service might be anticipated. I bought my “one and only” new tractor at “fair special” price from the farthest away John Deere dealer in our county.

I’ve never been back there, but I do visit the nearest one (less than 5 miles away) regularly to pick up my oil filters and other normal maintenance supplies.

Most tractors never see a dealer for intervention after they are sold.
