Kubota 1996 M5400 2WD Front Tire Recommendation

Hello to all & HNY !

The original Goodyear (GY) 2WD 7.5 - 16 ribbed tires are close to their end. I have tubes in both of them now.

Looking for recommendations on replacing both front tires. Is the quality of 2022 GY still there, or is there a better brand available? Thank you.

PS - I’ve kept the tractor in a nice shed when not being used so no UV except when using it

You may have to go by what is currently produced rather than by what came with the tractor twenty years ago. There's also the matter of what brands your dealer carries. The last ribbed tires I purchased were by Carlisle, I think. You could do an online search for best ribbed tractor tires or something like that.

There's also the matter of what brands your dealer carries.

Why? There are plenty of companies that specialize in tires. Many not them also carry tractor tires. You are not obligated to buy every component of for your tractor from your original dealer. He already got paid for that transaction. Find the best deal on the tires you want. If that happens to be your dealer, great. I would Never consider buying car tires from the dealership.

I'm looking for 3 rib, 10-ply 7.5 - 16 2WD tires...I agree on finding the tires anywhere. I called my dealer [bought my tractor new in 1996] and they do not sell or install tires anymore...Thanks for everyone's help, tstex

Goodyear has ten (10) ply tires.

Most others are eight (8) ply tires.

I'd see what your local tire shop offers and go from there.

Have off brand 7.50-16 three ribs on a 2wd loader tractor, they've held up fine. Tractor is on 2nd set of rears and third set of fronts since new.

Do you have an actual tire dealer? (doesn't sell tractors) Not sure where you are located but I have multiple places in an hour drive radius that sell and install farm tires that do not sell tractors or equipment. Call the places that cater to trucks and heavy equipment.

I buy from a "tire shop" that does automotive repair and offers mobile tire service for highway trucks and heavy equipment. They had 11L15 implement tires in stock when I need one a few months ago. Will install in your yard or at their shop.
