I just boight 27 acres and im thinking of a bigger tractor I have a bx 25 and was thinking of a b or L series with a backhoe does anyone have a b or L searies with a backhoe. I know the b is not much bigger than the bx. I plan on digging and a little brushhoging and thats about it thanks

Go for the L , much heaver rear gears, and tractor weight. I started with a BX23 TLB then a B3200TLB and finally now a Grand L3540, all great tractors but I just love the 3540. Best of luck to you.

The BX series basically have 9" ground clearance. Not enough for rough ground nor woods work.

Most B's have 12"-13" of ground clearance. B3300SU/B3300 have 14+" of ground clearance. Fine for woods work.

An "L" is a more capable tractor. Buy an "L" if it is in your budget. If you buy an "L" with an FEL consider a Bucket Spade or Ratchet Rake "Rip & Dig" in lieu of a backhoe. (Pictures show Bucket Spade on my former B3300SU)

I have a B with a BH, it can do a heck of a lot of work. Here is a thread where I posted some BH pictures around a project I did with my B: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/projects/291945-electrical-trenching.html I think its a lot more capable than a BX because its quite a bit bigger and the ground clearance is huge. I like it better than going bigger because it's a bit lighter (better in the lawn and not compacting the woods), a bit more stable on hills and there's a couple very tight places I need to fit in (driving through the woods and under a deck to stack wood). If you do a lot of ground engaging tasks the bigger and heavier tractor will help, for mowing and PTO then the cheaper and smaller B would be better.

I have a hilly terrain so the B2920 is appealing to me. I may end up adding wheel spacers to increase the track width a tad just for decreasing the pucker factor!

I highly endorse the wheel spacers but it won't reduce your pucker factor as much as it will allow you expand your operating envelope until you hit your pucker point!

If your budget allows, I would go for a Grand L 40 or new 60 series. The on-the-move high/low HST has me sold, but I haven't actually ran one myself.

L3200 is not too bad of a choice, if the land is in good shape to start, go bigger if possible. Warning L3400 is very light for size. B 3200 is well matched of its size but for smaller property.

I have an L39 , an excavator, and an old B7200.
Definitely the Grand L, even if used. You need it for the size of the property. Sone homeowner will pay good money for the BX
