My B2320 seems to have less power than before. Tractor has 420 hours. Here's what it does: power set to 2000 rpm or so, then I push the HSD pedal forward to go up the driveway and as I climb the grade the tractor seems to really slow down to a crawl. Increasing RPM will move it faster, but 2000 RPM should be enough in mid range to move up the hill (it used to with no problem). New fuel filter 10 hours ago, known good fuel. Any ideas would be appreciated please.

Question;

Do the RPM's drop at all or the forward motion just slows down?

Brake off?

HST/hydraulic filters changed?

Air filter (could be a nest or obstruction in there)

Check the HST linkage to make sure it didn't move (could not be getting full application causing the tractor to slow down on a hill)

Let us know how you make out!

Ericher69,

Thanks for the reply. Around the yard, I don't notice any power issues, my issue is only noticeable climbing my paved driveway. So, to answer your questions: speed drops, not rpm. New air filter 10 hours ago, hydraulic fluid and filters 200 hours ago, hydraulic fluid up to high end of dipstick range, brake is off. I do back off the HSD when it starts to slow down and it evens out. My only concern is that this tractor did not show this symptom earlier, recently it started but gradually. I will check the linkage for any obvious defects ( maladjustment or bending). Thanks again.

SO you have all new filters within the past ten hours and I believe your fuel is less then a year old from your hours with proper hour changes so I'd look at the brakes to be sure they aren't dragging. The brakes aren't used much on hydro's and they do tend to build up some rust and drag from time to time.

Hillstreet, I noticed in another thread you posted today you said you had adjusted your parking brake and were concerned that you may have over adjusted it . This could account for the problem you have now .

Sailorman, glad you caught that. I did not think of that until after posting the original message. Will definitely look into it. Thanks
