Kubota B2650HST. Kubota Z125S
Went to a Kubota dealer yesterday and looked at these two models. I will plow snow and do light maintenance on the property. The brochures for both models talk about "newly introduced" and "newly designed", and how they bring simplicity, versatility, power and comfort to tough jobs.

Maybe it is just marketing, but I don't want to buy a "Ford Pinto" if you know what I mean. Said another way, I just don't know why they changed recent models that seemed to work just fine. Seemingly lighter materials and new transmissions might not work as intended. Quick connects are nice though.

I will buy one of the two, and just wonder what your experience is with these models.

The 2650 is awesome!

Since you show that you already own a B2320, I'd stick with it. Using my opinion, I'd say that the difference isn't all that great. Unless your model is all beat up or you just want a new tractor, that is. My B2620 is three years in the using with about 450 hours. It has been trouble free, without the bells and whistles.

IMHO, i'd step up to an "L" model to gain some real power and ability. I don't know how the new Tier production would affect that decision.
Cheers,
Mike

Hey Mike,

Thanks for the info. I did sell my B2320, it was in real good condition. I do need a new one, think the B2650 would fit the bill.

Great, that is the way I am leaning. I am a Kubota guy, will not buy another brand.

Well, now I'm envious. That B2650 would be nice to have. The problem with going up to an "L" is that it may be too big for one's place, viz maneuverability, weight, height etc. Now, you will gain some weight, size and power, but not too much.

Cheers,
Mike

I compared these two models (and I also looked at the B2620) when I decided to sell my B2410. The B2620 had pretty much the same layout of everything as my tractor which I liked. What I didn't like is it has the quarter inching 3 point which I do not care for. For some reason the 3 point also had less lift than my old one. The B2601 is the same size class as the B2410/B2620 but has a few upgrades. It has position control, a SSQA loader, a better seat and has optional rear remotes. The B2650 and B2601 have many of the same features but the B2650 is bigger. It has a bigger frame, weighs a bit more, and has better capacities on the 3 point and the FEL. For me, any of these machines would have been fine. Ultimately, I chose the B2650 for the better loader. The quotes I got had them only $1100.00 apart which I deemed acceptable for the increase in performance.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

I looked at both as well and went with the 2601 since I was originally looking at the BX is was fair bit larger and more powerful and the 2650 was kinda overkill for my needs. I liked that is was larger and better lift but property is small and in some areas tight. But I don't have snow so I have no clue how that factors into sizing.

Speaking of snow, that did enter into my consideration. I opted to get a 60" bucket just for better snow moving capacity. I think the taller stance of the B2650 will be a help too. Once in a while my old tractor would get hung up in a drift so I would need to scoop snow until I could get through it. My property is fairly open so the larger size isn't a negative for me but that would need to be considered for ones individual needs.
