KUBOTA B2782B SNOWBLOWER

Just took delivery of my new 2014 B2650 Tractor.
I am not happy at all with how loud the snowblower is, probably around 80-85 DB - louder than my generator or close to it.
Is this normal?
My John Deere 4115 with 47 inch blower you could not even hear.
This thing sounds like a thrashing machine.
Do they get quieter?
If I did not have a cab, you would have to wear ear muff's with this thing.
Please reply with any experience and comments, I will probably call my dealer in the morning - based on my replys

Definitely doesn't sound normal. We have a couple of the Kubota 52" blowers mounted to f series tractors at work, and the blower just sounds like a big fan when it's running. That said, when I put the Cub Cadet blower on our garden tractor, it made a really loud screeching noise. One of the impeller fins was bent, and would just catch the housing at part of it's rotation. I fixed that by straightening it with a pipe wrench. Now it hums like a large fan also. Since this is a new blower, I suspect that there might be a loose nut, bolt, or piece of debris stuck behind your impeller, that it rubs against. Might need to un bolt the impeller to find out for sure. Have you tried disconnecting the pto shaft from the tractor, and rotating it by hand to see if it scrapes at any point during the rotation? Also, check the gear oil level in both the gearbox, and the reduction box. Our newest one was very over filled from the factory/ dealer. This caused a pretty messy leak before it was noticed.

zzz2d1--Your dealer will tell you the sound is normal, and he'll probably be correct. I've seen at least a dozen people on these threads who bought a new Kubota blower (including my brother and myself) and thought something was wrong because of the noise--especially in the up position not contacting any snow. Definitely have your dealer look into it, but I believe you'll find there's nothing wrong. Mine has been bullet-proof and done a great job for me. Regards, Mike
