hey guys- i had the notorious ecu failure take place on my 07 l6060 series. THis is a well known common problem that kubota extended the warranty for a few additional years to mid 2000's b,l,m models i think- but now the warranty period is closed. I search the forums and many folks head to the dealer for replacement, upset the "super reliable kubota" let them down.
Anyway the ecu shorts out when you turn the engine over with a low battery , causing increasing the amp load under low voltage. it causes the ecu to short out and a 4k bill at the dealer. (remember its best not to try and start with a weak battery with modern computer controlled engines)
I found a remedy- i sent my computer to ecu maverick in florida i think , they were able to repair for @ 700. no reprograming at the dealer or any other drama. no towing. and these guys even called me twice a month later to confirm everything went ok. fantastic service. couldnt be happier - saved me 3500 bucks
Anyway - i searched long and hard for workaround such as this - and found nothing - so i thought i would list a possible workaround for guys that have the same problem.
