Folks,
I have had intermittent safety switch starting issues that always resolved themselves. I parked the tractor & BH90 backhoe on an incline and cannot get the engine to turn over. My display indicates "HST Neutral" and I cannot determine the switch location for adjustment/lubrication. Looking under the seating platform, the pedal has an initial pivot pont directly below, then another pivot point 3-4 inches ahead on the mechanism. Can someone please help me locate that switch location???

From looking at the service and parts manual online, looks like the switch is on the left side of the hydrostatic case, between the bell housing in the front and transmission case to the rear. It is a 4 pin switch terminals 1-2 and 3-4 are paired.

Go grab this manual and save it.

On the L series whenever you have the Intellipanel give you an alert for one of the safety switches it is a good idea to crawl underneath tractor and check the harness for wires pulled loose.

On the GST a lot of the wires are underneath and go up into the fender area, check both sides not sure how HST is.

Checking all the fuses is also good idea also, I had the MID PTO light come on one time and I do not have one, it was a blown fuse.

B10403 is the page of the L3830 parts breakdown with the neutral switch parts numbers.

David,
Thanks for the heads-up on the .pdf manual. I have a hard copy of the parts manual and actually located the switch by nosing around underneath the tractor. The swrtch gave a couple of minor sparks when checking the fit between the two halves. I have found several on-line businesses that sell the switch (part # TD060-53902). this is an updated part replacement, as the manuals indicate the original part# TD060-53900). Possibly updated because of "issues" with the original? The part is not in stock, so I may have to wait ~1 week for delivery. I can spreak with a few suppliers in AM, as they were all closed today (Sunday). Thanks again for all the info!

Can you just push the clutch in on that tractor and bypass the hydro pedal interlock?

Have a L3130GST and sometimes you have to nudge the shuttle lever a bit to crank.

Otherwise I would not have a problem just putting jumpers in until you get a new switch.

I have tried with & without the clutch pedal depressed. There are multiple neutral safety switches on this unit:
1. Hydro pedal
2. Clutch
3. PTO
and a couple others I can't think of right offhand. I am still waiting for Central Equip. to open in Medford. I was waiting for sun to check all of the fuses.
