Kubota l3830 vs. MF 1540

OK, this appears to be the place where all pricing questions should be posted.

I am comparing a Kubota L3830 w/ a FEL to a MF 1540 w/ a FEL. I have not decided which transmission, leaning towards a HST, and am undecided on the loader but think I want the larger lifting capacity of the 723.

Is this an apples to apples comparison of 2 different brands?Any thoughts and advice would be appreciated.

I think the L3830 only comes with the LA 723.

I have owned three gear tractors and was on my way to buying a fourth when I started reading the forums on TBN. I hadn't even considered the HST transmission until I realized that the majority on this site recommended them. I changed my mind and bought a tractor with the HST transmission. I am now one of the converted and am very happy with my decision.

As far as comparing the L3830 with the MF 1540, the specs were similar. I drove a 1533 and liked it, but because the price was too high started looking at Kubotas, Cases and New Hollands. I was leaning strongly towards the L3830 but didn't
like the ergonomics. I bought a Case DX35 which is comparable to the other two you are looking at but has superior ergonomics in my opinion. You might consider it or the equivilent New Holland as well if there is a dealer near you. The seat is far more comfortable for me, the loader with the curved loader arms give you a better view of the FEL and I like the fender mounted joy stick rather than the loader mounted joy stick on the L3830.

I have been running the 3130 and am awaiting my new 3830, the 3130 is basically the same tractor, just less hp, this one has the 723 on it and I really like it, very powerful, has done everything I asked of it, I haven't found any problems yet....

RK246, I was quoted $21,500 for the L3830HST with a 723 FEL, does this sound like a good price to you?

I was quoted about the same price last August from the lowest priced dealer around here. I think that's a good price.

Yes that sounds good, I am at 22,500 for the 3830 HST, with 723, 60" rotary mower, tires filled, 50 hour service, delivered, not tax....Is the price you were quoated for a HST?
